Acrylic Plex plastic sign letters can be best described as plexiglass. Acrylic comes in flat sheets of graduating thicknesses, the thinest being 1/8", then 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1". Unlike our Formed Plastic Letters and Injection Molded Letters that are hollow in the back and provide for greater depths, an Acrylic Plex plastic sign letter is solid all the way through and has a maximum depth of 1 ".

The greatest advantages obtained from Acrylic sign letters are price and versatility. This product is cut with computer guided tools which allows us to cut virtually any shape, font, logo or design. Although we have a standard font set to choose from, we can in fact cut any font at no extra charge in most cases.

Acrylics can be pigmented, ie: the color of the raw material, or painted with a long lasting and durable baked enamel finish. The latter is recommended for exterior use as the pigmented colors tend to break down under continuous UV exposure.

Disadvantages are weight and resistance to vandalism. While the thinner materials are relativly inexpensive and fairly lightweight, the thicker materials are very costly and heavy. Thinner materials are easily smashed on impact.

Mounting Options
	Plain-No Mount The reverse side of all formed plastic sign letters are hollow. No mounting attachments are produced as part of the vacuum forming process. This can be difficult to mount and produce unsightly results if done improperly. They are made this way for professional sign companies that will have their own attachment methods or choose to do it themselves by purchasing specific hardware.
	PAD MOUNT INDOOR RECOMMENDED Pad mounts are achieved with the use of perforated plastic disks or rectangles that are glued into the backs of the letters so that they are almost flush with the letter wall. Order Adjustable pads if you want a non-flush installation or for uneven surfaces. Best used in indoor situations on drywall and outside where drilling holes might be either unsightly or too difficult as in the case of very hard concrete.The pad mount relies on silicone adhesive to glue it to the mounting surface. Long strips of masking tape should be employed to hold the letters in position while the adhesive dries.
	STUD MOUNT By far the easiest and fastest mounting method available for outside or inside use. Drill holes in your wall or mounting surface using the template as a guide. Fill holes and coat studs with silicon, press in and your done! Studs involve the use of all threaded metal rods that screw into plastic retainer blocks that have been glued into the backs of the plastic letter. No two letters are interchangeable, even letters of the same character. This is because the stud blocks are glued into the letters by hand and each will have unique positioning. On the pattern, a circle identifies the position of each stud where it falls inside a letter. Drill holes for studs and use silicone adhesive to hold the studs securely in the holes.
	COMBO MOUNT USE WHERE LIMITED DRILLING IS PREFERABLE A combo mount differs from a stud mount in that the upper portion of the letter will have studs and adjustable pads that can be screwed up or down the stud. The lower portion of the letter has nonadjustable pad type mounts. This configuration is good for uneven surfaces, such as lap siding where an adjustable top will allow the letters to be vertically plumbed. Also use for hard concrete situations where you want the rods anchored in the building for security. The pads below get surface mounted like pad mount.
	COMBO ALL MOUNT USE FOR STANDOFF AND UNEVEN SURFACES On the combo all mount, each stud has a plastic perforated disc that can be screwed up or down the stud shaft. This allows for full adjustability over all mounting points allowing you to install against corrugated tin, curved surfaces and all manor of uneven surfaces. The studs through pads also allows you to stand off the letters from your mounting surface, giving a greater depth or to allow for some form of back lighting.
	FLUSH STUD MOUNT ADDS 25% PER LETTER Letters are drilled and tapped to accept metel threaded studs. Gives a more secure mount that does not rely on glue. Only available on 3/8" or thicker letters and logos.
	DOUBLE SIDED TAPE MOUNT ADDS 40% PER LETTER Strips of 3M VHB (Very High Bond) double sided tape are added to the back of the sign letters. Best for indoor applications but can be used outdoor if supplemented with silicon adhesive. Only available on 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" thick acrylic letters and logos.
